Different
The melody and baseline may have originally been his, but what your song is and what is seems kind of far apart. You connected the melodies while he cut his up. Your song really doesn't sound to much like his. It has a more relaxed feel, but keeps the happy at a high level. At 1:06 the melody doesn't quite sound as good as the original though. Still, a good remix of a good song.
Length
Why not longer?! Is not as bad as you seem to think, just simple. Add some more parts and extend the length and you have a winner! LOL, when it loops you can't really tell when it starts and ends.

Hey MP, can you geuss who it is? Nice work. Reminds me of Space Rave. My fave spot is at 2:14, nice midsong pads. I agree that the snare is a little too harsh though. You might try softening them up or using a filter to in or out, whatever you want. It might just me, since I am still kinda new to this and all, and maybe this is what you were going for, but seems to be missing some substance a lot of the time inbetween the snare and the melody.
So losing your all of your old files because your computer is really great. All those WiP's are not going to be finished now I guess. Sorry about that. Never fear, the new laptop has proved itself superior. Just without any of the old files.
